Lombok island is located east of Bali Indonesia and can be easily accessed by sea or air. Lombok is among the favorite destinations for tourist in Indonesia and attracts travelers from all around the globe.
Lombok, an Essential part of the Lesser Sunda Islands is situated in the state of West Nusa Tenggara a series of little islands in the Indonesian archipelago. West Nusa Tenggara spread into two islands Lombok and Sumbawa. Lombok crosses 90km from north to south and 80km from east to west.
It boasts untouched, pristine beaches, a more massive volcano, Mount Rinjani, and a significant selection of different landscapes and sceneries. The island of Lombok provides the complete escape from the hustle and bustle of towns. Tourist action is confined to Senggigi, Kuta Lombok, and Gili islands, but even these areas are low key compared with most of Bali. The rest of the island is ripe for exploration.
The Lombok Strait marks the passage of the biographical division between the woods of the Indo Malayan Eco zone along with the distinctly different fauna of Australia that’s known as the Wallace Line, for Alfred Russel Wallace. Who first remade upon the distinction between both these crucial biomes. The island’s topography is dominated by the centrally-located strata volcano Mount Rinjani, which rises 3,726 m — 12,224ft, which makes it the second highest mount in Indonesia. There are no listed in history about when the first Rinjani erupted. The latest eruption of Rinjani — Mount Baru (Rinjani Son) was in June — July 1994 and annually 2004. The volcano and its sacred crater lake SegaraAnak (kid of the sea) are protected from a National Park situated in 1997.
The are two main seasons on Lombok. Dry season — from June to Sept — the warmth could be scorching. During the night, particularly at higher elevations, the temperature may drop so much a sweater, and a light jacket are needed. The rainy season extends from October and January — the wettest months.
The Lombok “arid season” starts in May and lasts through October. On the beach, the temperatures are in the high 80s to the low 1990s through a lot of the year during daylight hours and somewhat more relaxed in the day. In the interior temperatures can, in reality, heat up quite a bit. The exception is Mt. Rinjani, which is greater than one mile higher can get quite chilly.
The “rainy season,” which isn’t that moist has reasonably much the same weather. The climate is frequently described as monsoon, but this pertains to the wind, not the rain. Therefore the winter months are when the breezes pick up. And whilst the tourist season is from May to Sept, there’s no wrong time to head to Lombok.
